Artist’s statement :
I like to create art that suggests a story—just something that might intrigue the imagination of the viewer, so he or she can fill in the blanks and wonder about what might have happened before or after the scene.
I tend to be realistic in my style, and favor watercolor. However, I occasionally do work in pastel and enjoy the sense of contrast that it provides.
I find contradictions quite appealing, especially in still life painting. Occasionally, I like to include some text in the picture to provide another layer, or a tickle for the viewer.Recently, I have begun to accompany my paintings with a short, short story of original fiction.
For many years, I worked in the advertising business as a creative director, and have always enjoyed the challenge of the blank page.
I have exhibited in every region of the US, throughout Europe, Asia, and Canada.
